Development of Imperial Laundries

Architectural Design

£1.5M development of Imperial Laundries

 Key Benefits

New modern steel structured building.

Flexible open plan layout.

Project Description

Imperial Laundries is a successful business based in Mansfield, Derbyshire.

Historically, the business operated in a traditional brick building supported by columns throughout the structure.

The management team of Imperial  Laundres  required a modern structure, with open plan space to allow  the most efficient layout of the laundry operation.

Millar Management reviewed the current operation and worked with the management team to create a forward thinking design to meet their requirements.

Solution

A new steel building was designed to fit over the roof of the existing building. The original building was demolished on a phased basis, beneath the new structure.

Great care was taken throughout the project to ensure that the laundry remained fully operational throughout the re-organisation.

Outcome

The new structure provided modern, open plan spaces to optimise the flow of work through the operation.
