Project Description Imperial Laundries is a successful business based in Mansfield, Derbyshire. Historically, the business operated in a traditional brick building supported by columns throughout the structure. The management team of Imperial Laundres required a modern architectural design, with open plan space to allow the most efficient layout of the laundry operation. Millar Management architectural contractors reviewed the current operation and worked with the management team to create a forward thinking design to meet their requirements. |
Solution A new steel building was designed to fit over the roof of the existing building. The original building was demolished on a phased basis, beneath the new modern architectural structure. The project management team took great care throughout the project to ensure that the laundry remained fully operational throughout the re-organisation. |
Outcome The new structure provided modern, open plan spaces to optimise the flow of work through the operation. |
