Project + Cost Management
Effective Project and Cost Management is key to the successful delivery of projects, and MD+M has provided project management services on a wide range of construction projects over a period of 35 years and on projects ranging from £5k up to £200m in value.
MD+M has particular experience with managing projects within complex and operational airports, aviation and distribution environments, including at Heathrow Airport, London Luton Airport, Gatwick Airport, Birmingham International Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport, Stansted Airport, British Airways, Cargo and Distribution facilities.
Automation + Baggage Design
Our team is renowned for its specialized work in airport automation and baggage system design. We leverage cutting-edge technology to streamline baggage handling, improving both operational efficiency and passenger experience. Our designs prioritize reliability, safety, and speed, reducing wait times and enhancing the functionality of airports worldwide.
MD+M has completed system design works in several major international locations including Africa, Middle East, Australia and South America as well as many UK locations. When designing a new baggage handling system or re-organising an existing system, demand analysis and process mapping are used to develop efficient layout solutions and eliminate unnecessary or duplicate operational processes. This process engineering approach reduces waste and increases the capacity and efficiency of the operational facility providing future operational savings.
Design Coordination
Building and systems design is typically a multi-disciplinary process, involving various disciplines and designers, such as architects, engineers, baggage consultants, passenger modelling and simulation consultants to name a few, working together to create a fully coordinated ‘turn-key’ design team.
However, problems can occur where there is missing or miss-communicated information, inconsistencies between documentation, reduced resource allocation and ill-considered decisions. Design coordination is the amalgamation of designs prepared by different members of the wider design team to create a unified set of information that can be constructed without clashes between components. Effective design coordination can help to reduce additional costs, delays and disruption, that result in the need for remedial or abortive and re-design works.
